Despite what the mainstream media says, the majority of Americans did not like Obama. Voting for Trump was suppose to be a spit in the face to Obama and his supporters. Unfortunately Trump is no different than Obama and is actually worse.

On the electoral college Trump won by a large margin. It was only by the popular vote he lost, in large part because of California.

I pretend I live in an alternate reality where we are all peacefully enjoying Romneys second term. >_>

But yeah. I didnt vote for Trump, but most of my friends and family did. Only a small handful are really pro-Trump, but people just disliked President Obama and Hillary that much that they figured he was the lesser of two evils. Seeing how he has governed this far, while his cultists obviously arent going anywhere, I really hope the lesser evil votes see the err of their ways in 2020.

Trump also swung a lot of the blue collar union democrat types that no Republican has made many in-roads with since Reagan. You dont have get Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, etc without winning a lot of them over these days if youre a republican. In my experience many of that voter bloc are pretty... lets say... anti-immigration? And probably not super keen on a female President.

Id rather of had her so we could still at least keep pretending to be a competent country, but most the reasons I heard for voting for her was she wasn't Trump. However, I feel like no longer pretending we're not racists is good cause we can address it better once Trump is gone.

Appreciated. I suppose I can give you the benefit of the doubt on that account and enumerate a small number of things that I dislike about the current President and his administration.

1) Economic uncertainty - the President's "trade wars" are fixing to downturn our economy. He claims he's in charge of the best economy, but, as is the case with most administrations, they are feeling the effects of the previous administration, and the effects of this one likely won't be obvious for a few years at least.

2) Anti-immigration - the President made a large effort over the past few years to demonize immigrants, overplay the influx of illegal immigrants, and make legitimate immigration methods more difficult. We have a caravan of migrants looking to seek asylum on their way here right now and he's doing everything in his power to prevent them from using the very legal routes that we have put into place for them to be processed.

3) The environment - the administration is doing everything in its power to remove protections we have in place, between rolling back regulations and placing into director positions people who have been publicly against those same organizations. With the scientific community nigh unanimous of the very real threat of irreversible climate change, America should be leading the efforts to combat that, not seeking to abandon every effort made.

4) Foreign policy - The President has made very public showings of disrespect to some of our strongest allies, while at the same time cozying up to those who have a bad reputation in the global community (Russia and North Korea).

And in general, the man seems to care about little more than himself. He makes everything in the world about him whenever he can, shows little tact or compassion for others, and just seems like an uncaring person in general, not someone we want in service of Americans at large, especially at the highest office.

I'm not asking you to counter these points or anything, nor am I really in the mood for a lengthy discussion or sourcing. I'm just offering perspective. That's not even getting into things like his demonization of the media, the attitude towards transgender people, looking out for his own business interests while in office, the nepotism and cronyism in the administration.

304-227 that still a significant margin, and yes I am aware of the whole charade with Wisconsion, Michigan, and Pennsylvania with Jill Stein wanting a recount. And even with the recount Trump still won those states. That tells you most states did not like Obama.

The U.S. needed to be reigned in on the world stage. Its better that it be done by an incompetent administrations policies instead of losing another war.

The U.S. moral authority means less now that Trump wants to bring back torture and he was locking up immigrant children & separating them from their parents.

China is going to overtake the U.S. in becoming the world leader anyways. Trumps reversal of economic policies just helps pave the way sooner.
