1) I'm not paying full price (or close to it), for bits of data I download.
2) I want to own something tangible. You can't display or appreciate digital collections.
3) You can't trust these companies to keep giving you access to the content that you've purchased. I can go and pop one of my games into my system and play it immediately. Can I trust PSN/XBL/Nintendo to keep the same service? Wii and DS shops are already done for.

Yeah, who's to say you're gonna be able to download them games forever? Konami already took down P.T, and there's rummors going around that they are actually deleting it from Plastations that already have it.

Last I checked there was still a workaround to download PT as long as you already own it

In general I greatly prefer digital, but I will never buy a Nintendo game digital again. My digital Wii library only exists on backup hard drives now. In other words, in the end my Wii games had to be stored physically, because you cannot download them anymore. Nintendo doesn't care about keeping your past purchases around.

Physical media for the last couple of gens don't really represent what they used to.

PS4 can't play PS3 discs. Once my PS3 is dead that's it. Those games are gone regardless. PS3 and 360 are no where near as reliable as older systems. I doubt we'll ever get clone systems of them either.

Even if they're not and the PS3 servers shut down what's the point? Then I'm stuck playing 1.0 versions of several games which could be completely broken.

Only system right now that rewards keeping physical copies is Xbox.

RDR2 came on 2 Blu-Ray discs, and Fallout 76 had a massive 51GB day one patch. It's ridiculous.

Digital is here to stay but people who want to actually own and keep their games long after online services are killed off know to always buy physical copies. Physical copies also offer collectable physical items and cant ever be steath deleted once a license a company had expires.

X-Men the arcade game, The Simpsons the arcade game, and others like them cant even be redownloaded, they were on last gen but very few people can say they are able to play them even if they bought the game due to those games being removed due to licenses expiring unless you never deleted them to make room for other games.

Nope, people tried and if you go into your purchase history they are no longer available to download due to them being delisted and the change effects even the download history, I have looked for SP VS the world the game, and the other two.

Fucked up part is Ubisoft also released online coop DLC and a new character, the new content was not even out a full year before the cord was cut and the game delisted for SP vs the world.

Are you sure? It comes up on my download list.

I need to activate my PS3 to download it so I can't check for sure but it is there for me.

The PS3 download list is absolute shit though. Luckily for me it was one of the first games I got.

1) I like receiving a physical item back in a purchase.

2) I enjoy having a collection of stuff that I like, which is often looked at by friends when they visit. It represents me and my tastes.

3) If the data of a digital download gets corrupted in the future, there is no guarantee that I can redownload it.

4) I can lend games to friends and families.

5) I feel like physical games go on sale more often and can be bought for cheaper, as stores need to clear up old inventory for newer games.
