Like I remember playing FF VI, there was this boss who always reflect your spell, the solution i came up with is cast reflect on yourself, then cast the black magic on yourself it will reflect to the enemy and he will take the damage.

also casting healing/revive spell to damage undead. So far the series has fallen like that garbage xiii and xv
