article starts with 'we need more research' and then lapses into anecdotes. absolute garbage reporting. zero science.

sounds about right from the anti-weed brigade.

for the record, i was quite the fiend going into this month, and i stopped cold turkey, and i'm just fine. article refuted.

That's the big one for me. My apartment's "no smoking" policy rings hollow when nobody can find out regardless.

Chronic use of most anything has negative effects. This shouldn't be anything surprising.

Hell, drinking too much water will kill you.

But lots of people are scared of nuance - it's either 100% one thing, or 100% the other.

Ever known someone that drinks all of the time and is a complete garbage person?
100%, right?

It's way too easy to sit there and puff on 'em, not realizing how high you're getting until it's too late lol. I'd use them a lot less but I like going to the park and being outside when I'm high.

Most studies indicate that any damage is caused by the smoke and not the actual THC or the other shit in it.

Yeah, I've seen people addicted to it. I've also seen people quit cold turkey no problem for jobs. In fact I've seen it several times. I've also seen people function in high stress environments on the stuff. This isn't a simple king of drug---it can affect people in many different ways. In a way i guess that's why it's dangerous but in low doses (Which is really all you need) it's almost harmless.

As George Carlin said, it's a value changing drug that''s self limiting---meaning once you've used up it's usefulness you don't really want it anymore. Exceptions are people that have chronic pain or are addicted for other reasons, like depression/anxiety/whatever.

You know, there's one thing I've learn over the years that's incredibly valuable. It doesn't matter if others don't believe you. What matters is that you believe in yourself.

It's funny. Haters don't understand the mindset required to do the unbelievable. That's why they don't believe me... cause they don't believe in themselves.

Should of offered to let him be Janitor.

Pot heads make great janitors. They never complain, or ask for raises. They just go wipe up the vomit with a blank stare on their face ^_^.

Honestly I think it is their chill I do not give a fuck mentality.

NEVER make a intelligent or hard working person a janitor #_#. The bitching, whining, and inability to ever clean never end.

Honestly using pot is definitely bad for your health. For one, it's smoked out of glass pipes, if you don't clean those wipes they will fill with tar residue, that tar is what you're in healing and goes in your lungs. I'm no Dr but that is probably not good for you. Most people don't use filters or are clean about smoking so there's a heap of problems that will cause to the body long term, the best thing you can do after you smoke is drink lots of water and exercise.

Second, the drug dramatically increases the risk of temporary and permanent psychosis. It also causes panic/anxiety attacks in most people, but they just call it paranoia. Some parts of the drug are medicinal, but it must be controlled and administered by someone who knows what they're doing. The thc component of the drug is highly addictive and can cause hallucinations and permanent damage to the users understanding of reality(psychosis) as a result this drug can and will increase mood disorders and other psychological problems if legalized.

Wishful thinking doesn't make it true.

you're the one providing evidence confirming my assumptions, but i agree, it's best for you to embrace reality and stop living in a fantasy land

Then you shouldn't assume. But go ahead if it make you feel better, cause you need to feel better.

The weirdest thing about this conversation is that based on you interviewing people and not being in HR the best case scenario for you is that you're some lower management/supervisor.

That's arguably best case too lol.

Tell me son, how much do you make a year? I guarantee you that I make at least twice as much as you do. How's that for being an HR peon?

Sober lifestyle all the way. I wish I never smoked pot or drank alcohol I'd be a hell of a lot happier and have less problems. There's always going to be morons who become successful despite their drug problems, and junkies always cite these guys as an excuse for their drug use thinking eventually they'll get a big break out of their mediocre lifestyles. Truth is sobriety is king. Everything you can experience from drugs can be experienced from more holistic practices like therapy and if you want to experience things like acid trips then you've got psychiatrists for that. 6k karma of anti wisdom for the guy whose spent his life on gfaqs, you wish you had the patience or time to write a well thought out response to my post. My wall of text destroys your tos friendly troll attempt, you couldn't write anything this cohesive because you'd risk losing your precious karma since you're too pumped up with drugs at this point to write anything this long that wouldn't get you modded, nice try though.

Bragging online about your job didn't work when SMAL or Admiral did it and it's probably still not gonna work now since nobody has any reason to believe it

The difference between others and me is that I can sit on my ass all day, do absolutely NOTHING and I still make 6 figures a year, cause you know, I'm kinda self-employed through my own company. I didn't really need to work for anyone until I decided to do something stupid and bought another house that cost me well over a million dollars.

Let me stop you right there, wannabe janitor. Unfortunately, in order to pass your janitor exam, you must demonstrate a basic level of knowledge that exceeds "using fake terms like 'should of' in pace of actual English like 'should have' and other such... I mean I think I've made my point..."

After four years of heavy use, Warner noticed that his short-term memory was starting to fray. He avoided talking to people, and festering feelings of anxiety and depression grew.

Sounds like he was on his way down already.

He tried to mask them with weed,

Sounds like he started abusing a drug to escape his situation AFTER.

deepening his dependency. In 2010 Warner upended his life, quitting his job and breaking up with his girlfriend.

Sounds like it didnt quite work out.

So in summary. Don't abuse drugs thinking it is a substitute and cure all for actual mental health care. But you have to be a fool to think pot caused this. He tried to rely on a drug as a crutch coping mechanism, which never works out.
