So I've been playing Monster Hunter World a lot in the past month or two. Great game, I figured I'd play something else tonight though (but if I can't find anything I'll stick to that I guess?)

I want something not too complicated, with an easy learning curve.
I loved Hollow Knight, Rogue Legacy, Sundered, Dead Cells..
So yeah, a roguelike-metroidvania-ish game would be fun.
But I guess as long as the game's good, it doesn't really have to be that genre.
Oh and preferably nothing super expensive. If it's on sale, that's even better.

Tempted to just replay through Sundered or a few runs of Dead Cells (not interested in replaying Hollow Knight for now, waiting for the Hornet DLC before replaying it, and I played through Rogue Legacy again not too long ago)

EDIT: guess I'll give this a half hour before just randomly picking between Monster Hunter World, Sundered and Dead Cells.

Deep Rock Galactic.

4p co-op fps where they send you into underground caverns to mine stuff while fending off wave after wave of bugs.

What sets this game apart from other similar games of this genre is the ability to terraform the landscape to reach your objectives. You are equipped with a pickaxe which you can use to chip away almost everything like Minecraft.

Maps are procedurally generated so every session is different. It's still in early access, but updates are rolling in every month and one of the most anticipated updates is due by this month.

Thanks for the suggestions ;)

Deep Rock Galactic.

Game seems fun, saw it before, but., since I mostly play solo, it sorta ruins the point of getting a multiplayer-centric game :( I skipped on a few good games because of that :/

Timeapinner is fantastic

Had it on my wishlist since it came out, waiting for a sale to get it ;) but it does seem fun from the reviews I watched back then.

Axiom Verge

Had it in sight a while back, forgot why exactly I never got around to getting it. Might have to give it a try, I see it mentionned all the time in metroidvania/platformers lists

Cave Story

been there done that. I played the browser based game long long ago, and again on Steam (and possibly on the 360 in between)
Great game, fun, short, challenging enough.

Sir, my suggestion was 109% legitimate.
:(

ok I'll watch a review.. it's just that, I played Kingdom of Loathing before and I didn't really get into it.. and the handdrawn cartoony graphics don't help.

Been wishlisted for nearly a year.
Is it worth it though?
Guild of dungeoneering seemed like a fun roguelike deck card game.. but after an hour or so, I ended up requesting a refund 'cause the mechanics behind it sucked ass and made it impossible to progress if you died and had to start over with a new hero.

I wouldn't have suggested if it wasn't worth it.
They're also going to raise the price when early access is over.
They recently added a 4th floor but I havent played since the 3rd character was added.
For a while I was hooked though, hours a day; each run can last about half/hour.

When you lose it unlocks new cards and relics. It can be hard at first and its typical to lose to the 3rd (formerly last) bosses (it picks a random one of like 3 or 4 each run) but that just makes it satisfying when you do win.

Theres at least like 3 or 4 builds per a character too but its kinda up to RNG what will happen. It doesnt screw you though; you just have to learn to see what build it wants to to use within the first 2~4 cards of each run.

Ghost 1.0. It's an interesting take on metroidvanias in that all of your abilities/weapons are randomized, and if you play it in the rogue-like mode, there is a perma-death aspect where you can lose everything. Lots of fun weapons to play around with too, so occasionally you might want to die on purpose just to get access to something different.

I have it, great game, I loved the humor of it. Replayed it like two months ago too, actually ;)
I also tried Unepic (by the same people who made Ghost 1.0) but it got bullshit hard near the end so I just gave up on it.

Also already have them, and beat bo--... well the first one and the super turbo championship version.. I didn't get Guacamelee 2, it seemed like too much of the same old same old from the first game. Not that it's a bad thing but..
