For me, it's sort of melancholy, kinda bittersweet....the air is joyous but muted. Hard to explain.

the biggest life shaping moments of my life, good or bad, that i can recall have occurred around this time of year so it is sort of a bitterwseet thing for me too. all those emotions just kind of come and go and current happenings in my life kind of start to cross paths with those emotions...

...its still my favorite time of the year mostly because of that, though.

mixed feelings. I used to work retail and it kind of stirs bad memories from that. However, I also had a ton of fond memories as a child with it so I try to bring that to my younger siblings and my niece, which tends to help bring a bit of much needed delight back into the holiday.

Generally happy ones. Being with family. I think of eggnog, warm fire place, Bing Crosby, hanging the tree ornaments, and the snow.

All great. This is my favorite time of year.

Any time far from Christmas: "Yeah, can't wait til Christmas comes!"
Christmas time: "Fuck Christmas."

But really it just depends on how I'm feeling that year. Some times I get into it. Other times I'm a Grinch. I feel this is going to be a happy year this time, but things can change.

Indifferent, mostly.

I was raised Jehovah's Witness and so I didn't celebrate it until I was older. Even then, it was a few more years until my family left he religion, so it's never really been a family holiday for me.

Dread. My mom keeps asking me all second half of the year what I want and I don't fucking want anything, haven't wanted anything since I was like 15 other than to go back in time and call cps or something and force my mom to put me in school and not keep me locked in my damn room, babying the crap out of me most my life so I can have a normal life. But I think dying in my sleep is a bit more likely. Sometimes I wonder how she'd react to me saying therapy, she'll almost definitly say no tho.

All I get when christmas comes is having to act like I like the things she got me, I'd rather go to a resturaunt we haven't been too before, food is about the only thing left I somewhat enjoy besides internet and sleeping.
