It basically set the standard for 3D adventure games moving forward, transitioning nearly flawlessly from 2D the first try, while other series struggle to do so to this day (looking at you, Sonic). Is it the best game ever? Well...It's all relative to the times. I guess I'm a weirdo because I have always preferred Super Mario 64 and now 3D Mario is my favorite series. OoT was always meh to me. I finally gave it a real chance with the 3DS remake, and enjoyed it a lot, so not all was lost to me. Glad I finally gave OoT and MM a chance with their respective remakes, both are really good games.
