thanks. i honestly feel a bit better that i actually had the strength to even get help. i may find myself to be a worthless piece of fucking shit but you know what? i'm here for a reason and i need to fix myself to the best of my ability. it hurts so badly to even seek mental health services, but i will never heal otherwise.

Yeah, it was really hard to even admit to my depression/alcoholism, let alone seek help for it.

Worth it in the end, though.

I'd probably be dead/dying from liver failure by now if I kept going like I was.

Drugs suck :/ solve one problem (if you're lucky) cause another, cost a mint. I hope you find a good balance. Exercise helps me when I'm feeling imbalanced. I very briefly tried Cymbalta and that made me feel terrible.

Unless the depression is really bad I'd recommend you don't take ADs or at least do not take them as prescribed. Those things lead you down the rabbit hole. There's no point in being in pain though, you need to find an alternative to these drugs or address the real cause of your depression. There's enough people on meds on this board as it is. I wish I could give better advice but you're not the only one struggling.
