It's not the first time the town has created stuff in the normal world, like SH4s door.

The blank paper isn't blank, it just fills out differently depending on what you do during the game.

Seems Laura ran away from an orphanage, and is likely to have gotten a ride from Eddie, according to the introductory video.
So there's an explanation for why she's there, the letters existence and non-blankness, and the possibility of adoption (in one ending), as well as why James could get away.

So literally everything TC complained about has a decent explanation.
Unless of course fantasy elements like the town itself are automatically no-no's.

So the fat murderer gave a little girl a ride to a town to wonder around in where another murderer adopted her?

Also yes, James is in deep denial, and possibly nuts imo.
Confronting what he did and being forced to face it leads to several possibilities, like killing himself.

There's a dialogue sequence in Silent Hill 4 that confirms James went missing a few years back, essentially confirming one of the bad endings has to be the true one.

His Silent Hill is filled with gruesome imagery of decay and grotesque feminine monsters. Its a metaphor for the erosion of his affections and the illness that took his wife. Maria is a cruel reflection of what his wife became. Pyramid Head is a manifestation of his violence. Its like... the supernatural town is beating James over the head with what he refused to confront. The torment resides within himself, its not like the town just had spoopy monsters everywhere. Its like when youre struggling with denial and the concern youre trying to suppress seems so hostile and violent. When hes finally ready to accept what he did, the torment subsides and its simplified to a VHS tape. Capisce?

I tend to get stronger the worst things get, don't know why, and I'm sorry about your loss, and its never easy dealing with it.

Even to this day, I still find myself breaking down over a few family members and my best friend I lost to different things, and these things happened 20+ years ago.

When I put myself in James shoes, I would have done everything I could to give her the best end of life care I could give even if I knew the ending will still be the same and no matter how difficult it can be.
