I'm not sure running a guy whose biggest race was a loss is a great idea against the guy whose worldview is split solely between winners and losers.

Yeah, Texas has no shortage of "herpaderp vote for the Republican" types who have no principles beyond party name. If Beto can't beat a slimeball who eats boogers on national TV, I'm skeptical that any Democrat in Texas could.

Yeah they just love their Republicans nevermind Lyndon Johnson who only held office from that state for 30 fucking years. You guys are the party of excuses.

Lol at the overreactions in this topic. Beto lost, but he lost in a very red state. Why that should disqualify from running for President somehow is beyond me. He seems like a great dude, at the moment he would be my top pick for the nomination in 2020

There were some major losses for the dems. They shouldnt have pushed for everybody to vote and not expect us to vote, too. The whole thing basically backfired.

The democrats didnt want 1/3 control over the government; they wanted 2/3, and they realized a long time ago that it wasnt going to happen. Thats when you conveniently started to notice the rhetoric start to change.

The guy's gonna finish with over 4 million fucking votes and at least 48% of the share lol.

That seat hasn't been Democratic since 1993, but the % of votes the Republican candidate has gotten has shrunk every election.

Cruz is at 50.9%. Last time it was 56.6%. Before that was 61.7%. Before that was 65%.

The other seat has typically been tighter so who knows what'll happen there. Cornyn has already said he's running again and gunning to be the party leader.

This pretty much. The entire Blue Wave was about getting Democrats control of the Senate and House so they could impeach Trump since he hurt their fefes. Didn't pan out well for them, as we know, and the narrative changed to "We didn't want the Senate! We didn't want Texas or Florida either. You thought we did? LOL". So sad.

Exactly. The whole point of the blue wave was to take 2/3 control and make trump useless. Impeachment was their ultimate goal and they would need a senate majority, hence the blue wave.
