What's your favorite Final Fantasy game? As of Nov 6 2018, this would be mine:

7>10>8>6>9>Tactics>13>10-2>12. These are the games I've played.

12 was just so boring. Couldn't get through it. Every aspect of the game felt long-winded and... slow. From story to characters to battle system to music... it all kind of went in one ear and out the other.

7 is just amazing, so many amazing moments, characters, songs. I hope they don't alter the music in the remake coming up, like using Black Mages versions of the songs. Sephiroth is the best villain in RPG history. When Aeris died, even though I knew about it already, it was still so powerful. The first time leaving Midgar too, when the world opened up, I remember being 8 years old and watching my brother who was playing see the world map for the first time. It was like a whole new world.

There was a time, in the mid-2000s, when FF10 was my favorite. If you asked me in 2008 what my favorite FF game was, I would have said 10. It had some of the best graphics, for it's time, of any game. I was blown away back in 2001 on seeing how good the visuals were. Even though Tidus lost badly in this contest, he was such a relatable character. Very easy to identify with and experience the story with vicariously.

The games' voice acting also was good. Yea the memes focus on the cringe-worthy moments(tidus laugh, ride the shoopuf), but overall it added so much weight to the story. I'm still sad it lost Game of the Decade back in 2010.

FF13, for visuals alone, stayed out of the very bottom. That game was AMAZING visually for 2010. Just mind-blowing graphics. Yea everything else about the game(besides Lightning) was not good, but damn that eye-candy.

you're right about 9. People love that game, but I remember playing the game back in 2000, and the battle system was just too slow. Every random battle took ages.

Worst is 9. The only actual exciting things were the cutscenes and that was mostly graphics, no real punch to them.

really?!!!! I loved the graphics for those 2 games, just incredible. But the story and gameplay for me was just... bland.

6 = 7 > 10 > 8 > 9 > 12 > 5 > 15 > 13

6, 7 and 10 are the only ones I'd universally recommend to people

8 or 9 I'd recommend if you generally like jrpgs

12 and 5 were lackluster narratively, but had interesting combat systems

15 and 13 felt like they had incomplete or rushed scripts, and 13 is the only one I'd call bad instead of just neutral

Im having a lot of fun with both MMOs right now, XI and XIV. Getting ready for the final original story missions in XI and powering up my relic weapon to try out the first raid in XIV.

VII is probably my favorite still, though Ive never finished II, V, VI, or VIII (along with the aforementioned XI) of the main numbered titles.

They just released a free expansion three years ago that makes solo play and leveling even easier than Trusts had already done, as well as serving as a giant wrap-up on the entire storyline. And it still gets small monthly updates. PS2 and 360 players got cut off two years ago though, so everyone playing now has to play on PC.

Only played 6, Tactics Advance and Crustal Chronicles. And only beat 6.

Great game.

Probably VII. X is close. LR is probably a distant third.

Eh most people(at least on here) still seem to easily regard it as the worst of the PS1 era but i wouldnt know about how much worse it mightve been seen back then. Was my 3rd game in the series and has always been my favorite though. Still waiting on a PS4 port :c

I played beta for 11 and later near its death, and played beta for 14 before even Square gave up on it, and re-released it as the superior " a realm reborn" which was much better but still mediocre...

Also finished I, II and V's GBA versions, plus FFTA (and Mystic Quest...). Started VII, should play it more and yet I get detoured. Started Tactics and haven't ended. And got to the final boss of IV (the original SNES version), lost, and couldn't bother to try again.

6 def is a classic. I haven't played it since 2003 on an emulator tho

Loved 6 and 10 from start to end. I probably like 5 more than most cuz of the job system. 9 has a horrible battle system (speed, turn order, trance, ugh) so it's that low for a game I would take over 7 otherwise.

12 I dislike - it's too boring and plays itself in the story events, initially at least. I don't think I've gotten past the return to rabanastre even once before quitting. 15 only makes it above it because I at least had fun looking around the scenery for the short time I played it.

10-2 is low because I only tried it once and the sequel to 10 being like that bothered me as a kid (monster collecting really).

Of the ones I've played. I'm not super wowed by the series like most people, but I do think 12 is an awesome game. 4 I think is pretty dumb and it surprises me whenever people say it is great.
