It's said "zed" or something close to it in pretty much any other language. Also I don't think it's just Europe, but pretty much everywhere that isn't USA, so real question is why do tge US insist on making it sound like a "C" and the answer is probably similar to why they insist on using different units for tempeature, length, weight etc.

but really it's just cooler, the only good of "zee" is rhyming the alphabet song BUT the far superior reverse-ABCs are much better with 'zed'... "zee why ecks" is atrocious The_Ctes posted...
