Try turning off the vsync setting in game. Game felt better to me with the vsync off.

If you need vsync to prevent tearing (and there is a lot of flashing lights in that game that can make screen tearing quite obvious) enable vsync in your video card's driver application.

Well, focus on your favourite one weapon... the game drops context sensitive ammo, so if you have only one gun you have functionally infinite ammo. Luckily the plasma cutter is really good

if you try and go higher than 30fps, the game will get very buggy.

pretty much everything in it is tied to framerate

some people say you can go up to 60fps reasonably well, but it still has problems.

I am trying a no guns run and am stuck in Chapter 3... when the tentacle grabs you there is nothing to kinesis at it and it's immune to stasis.

I wonder what woulda happened if I had zero ammo here... especially since you can save. Would it just be game over?

Yes, it likely would be & you'd have to start over. Why don't you want to use the guns? They are actually pretty fun to use and they do what their description says.

Also Dead Space is a million years old, having it on PC doesn't change that fact. :P

Funny how sometime the simplest/first weapon is sometime really good. I was surprise how good the wrench was in Bioshock when you get the appropriate passives.
