Mitt Romney had the intellectual fortitude to clearly condemn Nazis when the march in Charlottesville happened, and he didn't try to spew any nonsense about there being bad people on both sides when one of the sides was literally Nazis.

In complete and total fairness, there are bad people on all sides (see what I did there? Life isn't Us vs Them, it's multi-faceted), but the Nazi side is bad no two ways about it. People can have good qualities, but subscribing to that sort of though renders any of that useless.

And in even more fairness, today instead of civil discourse we get idiotic, hyperbolic insults calling anybody that a person dislikes Nazis; we don't even see variety with those insults because, thanks to the dumbed down education system (largely a result of union nonsense and politicians not applying real oversight), they're the only evil group people seem to know. And even the Neo-Nazi label doesn't really work since only a relatively small portion of the group was Neo-Nazi; it'd be like labeling the entire counter-protestor movement Antifa and calling them all terrorists as a result.

Today I was arguing with my coworkers about Trump. Basically I said we shouldn't be at war with 8 different countries, and his response was "Uh oh, we got a hippie here! Someone is going to drop the bombs, might as well be us." I was being easy, too. I was going on about how Obama did it too.

No, that's not real life. Real life is overhearing people who -- with a completely straight face -- insist that Christian terrorism is a far greater threat than Muslim terrorism and argue that Christian terrorists are responsible for more devastation in the US than Muslims. Life is running into unhinged individuals who thoughtlessly parrot memes they found online. Real life is running into seemingly-functional adults talk about how Trump is trying to tank the US to allow China/Russia to take over the country. Real life is having older co-workers who believe that Bill Clinton never bombed any countries. And real life is having relatives who are legitimately scared that Trump won't step down if he loses re-election and will turn the US into a military regime.
