Part of my problem with the original trilogy and the new trilogy is other than a few Hermits the Jedi are nearly completely dead and I feel the Jedi are what makes Star Wars Star Wars Disney had no opportunity have a rebuilt Jedi ordera new trilogy but they completely fucked that up. so do you think they'll go back to the Clone Wars or pre Clone Wars so we could actually have some Jedi around?

Please, punctuation. Also, of course they can rebuild. Rey can teach force-sensitive kids.

Can they rebuild tho? Ray isn't a Jedi and the only person who could have taught her got killed by Disney's bad writing.

Unless they go back and make movies about the eras before the prequel trilogy, no.

I get the hunch that Disney's intention regarding the Jedi seems to be that the galaxy no longer needs them and the normies must forge their own destiny and history.

I'm expecting Rey and Kylo to either die in Ep. 9, or if they live, go into hiding like Obi-wan and Yoda at the end of Ep. 3(faking their own deaths optional) without any intention to rebuild any new Jedi order so all the Jedi/Sith/Force usage stuff ends along with them.

I don't know what you want to define as a Jedi, but she learned to use the force and learned how to use a lightsaber, and she inherited some level of philosophy from Luke.

So what made Luke a Jedi but not Rey? They've gone through the same process, except Rey actually had more time to train.

There's more to being a Jedi then using the force and having a lightsaber. It's a code it's a ideology a way of life all three of those things were lost overtime and really work passed to Ray from Luke

Acknowledgement from a pre-existing Jedi.

Yoda decreed that Luke's final test was defeating Darth Vader and if he could do that, he would be recognized and accepted as a true Jedi.
Rey had no such thing.

What we need are scenes with hundreds of lightsabers like in the Geonosis Arena scene. Thats what Star Wars was originally meant to be.

Too bad all the great settings to make that sort of scenes are now all considered Legends and thus non-canon.

I don't expect Disney or anyone they hire to produce any decent storyline involving tons of Jedi fighting tons of Sith or such.

Luke didn't defeat Vader, but he seems to still be considered a Jedi.

But aside from that, in all practical ways, Rey is a Jedi. Or the equivalent of someone with a skillset but not the degree.

what
Did you watch Ep. 6?

Yes, to the bold part. Which is not a Jedi.
Being adept in Force usage while not being evil doesn't automatically make you a Jedi.

No she's just someone with Force powers and a lightsaber actually she doesn't even have a lightsaber that one got broken if I recall so just force powers she doesn't have the ideology the Jedi Order is dead and gone anyone who could teach her the Jedi ways are dead

Gee, it's almost like Jedi have a tendency to appear and teach lessons even after dying.

Like, y'know, what happened in the exact same fucking movie.

I don't think Luke has any intention to teach Rey any further, though.

That scene between him and Yoda's ghost seems to reinforce that. It's like the movie's trying to say 'The time of the Jedi is over. Let the Jedi die out, the galaxy doesn't need them.'

Anywhere from 30 minutes to 6 months with consideration for events between movies, as in the novels and comics, but Disney cut out almost all of the non-movie continuity up until they made their own series.
