I'm not sure when they stopped making them, but I remember freaking out in the late 90s/early 00s when my friend and I found some military ration M&Ms that had the tan color.

I remember getting to vote for blue, purple, or pink M&Ms at some point, but I'm not sure if I ever had tan M&Ms any other time.
