Currently I have herniated discus that are pressing against my spinal column and is causing me chronic unimaginable back pain. Here in America they want to do a spinal fusion but F that.

It's not even about Trump. We are pretty far behind most counties in cutting edge surgery. They have been doing artificial disks in other places for 20 years and we still heavily rely on fusion which is a 70 year old method.

The real problem is that we've expected someone else to pay for it for so long that nobody has any goddamn idea what any given medical procedure actually costs - including the doctors who actually do it.

Well if I get the fusion which I absolutely do not want to. It would cost me $250.00 out of pocket. I have amazing insurance however I don't want a surgery that will remove mobility and has a short life span when I'm so young. Its fortunate that I'm able to afford this but I can't imagine having the pain I currently have and needing to live with it.
