They know pretty everything Nintendo is likely to say, before the game is released. They were foaming at the mouth to see the final Direct before release, but now they seem pretty angry, upset and disappointed. Is it REALLY that important for the Grinch to be in their stupid fucking game?

Some are pissed because a few of the characters that the Grinch Leak had supposedly confirmed (most notably Banjo-Kazooie, Geno, Isaac, and Shadow the Hedgehog) were very highly desired characters, while the characters we got instead (which were Ken Masters, Incineroar, and Piranha Plant) were not nearly as sought after. However, some fans are happy about the direct because they either wanted one of the characters that actually got in (like myself, I'm hyped about Incineroar) or because they get to laugh at the people who believed the now-disproven Grinch Leak.

Also, the Grinch himself was never implicated to be in Smash. This whole thing was only called the Grinch Leak because the original image from the leak also showed unreleased promotional materials from the upcoming Grinch movie, some of which turned out to be real and seemingly gave more credibility to the Smash-related part of the leak.

People will get over it. It's not like this direct is getting anyone to cancel their preorders or anything. I just feel it damaged the hype by ending with such bland, safe choices (plus a WTF character taking the spot of what is normally a "holy shit left field pipe dream" reveal).

Ive been unhappy with smash ever since Sakurai sabatoged Brawl and managed to make such a shitty unbalanced game, all because people had fun being competitive with his previous work.

Bad mechanics and stupid characters, nothing to see here. A once great series now ruined.

They're just entitled. I won't lie, the direct was underwhelming upon first watch due to spirits mode but now I'm into it and excited again.

It's a dream roster.

I'm sad that Rex isn't in the base roster (and may not be at all due to Mii costumes and spirits). But I'll get over it.

I think he put Rex as costume and distinctly mentioned XC2 because he's planning on putting another character, like Poppi or Mythra (since Pyra was shown as a spirit though many have mentioned it doesn't matter)

I'd find it bizarre if they used a Mii Costume for Xenoblade 2 to incentivize a pre-purchase of the season pass but not include any characters from the game. I think Rex or some other XBC2 character is a rather safe bet for DLC. I haven't played XBC2 but Rex is the main character right? It would be odd not to choose him. I think the costume is just to satisfy XBC2 fans until they can get him in the game around mid next year.

God, I can't imagine caring about Smash Broathers and especially what characters are or are not in it. They are all the same. There are like 5 different templates and then 10 characters that all control exactly the same within that template. It's a fuckin party game for small children. Why does anyone care.

Rex is the main character. I think he's pretty down to earth and is probably gonna be a good inclusion, but somebody like Poppi who can switch into 3 very distinct forms and fighting style is significantly more interesting
