Being made fun of means you're part of the group. It's being treated the same. Equality.

I'm not saying being white is a handicap, but what if you were roasting an entire room and DIDN'T slam the guy in a wheelchair? Or you did but you clearly held back? He'd recognize that and realize he isn't being treated on equal ground as the rest of the room.

So wearing blackface is to benefit black people so they don't feel left out.

That was my summer job for my whole teen years and sometimes in my 20's if work was seasonal. Chopping weeds out of cotton fields. Sometimes nearly 70 hours a week just because I wanted the extra money.

You and this comedy excuse are, ironically, quite hilarious. The people in blackface aren't comedians on stage performing a bit. They're people who are either too stupid to realize how insensitive it is or they just don't care. Neither of which is a good excuse. If you actually believe people were wearing blackface on Halloween to be funny, then I've given you too much credit in thinking you're a troll.

Because comedy can only take place in a movie or on a stage. If it wasn't to be funny, they'd probably do it on other days too.

So comedy can't be used for that purpose? I've seen it a lot in standup. INB4 "You see standup comedians use blackface in their sets?" or the talcum powder version of that question.

And yeah I've seen Chappelle use the talcum powder thing but that was only on Chappelle Show instead of his standup.

I'm not calling that blackfacing. Dressing up in clothes to resemble someone of another race is not inherently racist. I was talking specifically about people actually wearing blackface. See, sometimes arguments shift around and there are different views based on the direction the discussion moves. I'm not offended by any of these things tbh, nor do I see them as just failed attempts at humor. I just believe that some actions have consequences and claiming intent should be considered by everyone before they react is both foolhardy and wishful thinking.
