- Banjo-Kazooie
- Shadow
- Isaac
- Ken
- Mach Rider
- Geno
- Chorus Kids

I think its real.

More importantly I just want the Direct to come and the toxicity to stop. People are literally gearing up to celebrate if someones favorite Nintendo character isnt in.

Personally I think the game will be worse off if the leak is fake as well (and Vergebens nebulous claims turn out to be the real deal) because 7 characters >>>> 2 characters

This. It feels more plausible to explain how it's real than to explain how the leaker faked as many tiny little details as this leak has.

This explanation makes far more sense than my initial impression to write it off because the thought that the Grinch would be in Smash Bro's was too wacky to consider.

I just want to point something here

But lets return to our little leak example. Again, we are making this leak. So, what do we do. Well, first we create new artwork for all the characters. Not too hard if you have some artistic talent. Ok, well, it looks like we have to move some characters. Alright, well, lets just say we are so skilled we were able to crop them and move them around. Opps, looks like some of the characters have things obscured. No problem. Lets just draw those in. Actually, lets move some of the other characters too. I know its a lot of work to make very minor movements to these characters when Im doing a blurry leak, but whatever. Its dedication. Oh, and Ill also make sure I have some of them interact with the other characters and make it look natural. Perfect.

Now, what detractors like to say is that these things could be done. Someone could make new art. They could redraw things like Greninjas tongue. They could move all the characters around. They could design the characters to interact with others. But to say that was all done at once? And this is done all for an image that will be blurry and hard to see anyway. Unless this person is some kind of savant or has nothing better to do with his life, I find it highly improbable that they did all these things together.

In fact, I decided to ask about that. I reached out to Pepy (@ LepyPepy on Twitter) who had made fanart of characters in the mural. Here was his response (consider this when someone tells you it would be easy to make):

Furthermore, let's say the guy making the leak was inspired directly by the 4chan post when it was made. He'd have saved the post when it was new. He wouldn't "randomly dig for it"

The thing that makes me believe this leak is how it's just so damn messy and chaotic it is. Fake leaks generally have this cleanness to them. Or you can see the tactic they're going for. This just seems totally random and a lot of coincidences back it up.

The fake Nintendo NX fooled a lot of people too. People somehow convinced themselves that Ubisoft leaked it.

I think it's real but man am I hoping it's fake. Ultimate's set of newcomers kinda bores me. I'm only cool with it since Sakurai is a master at selling the characters.

The problem moreso lies in the fact that the biggest names have mostly been done already.

A guy leaked "Rayman DLC" for SSBU which involved him having to recreate the animated background of the menu (that everyone already had access to and could verify) for not just the new Rayman character, but the fact that his new menu position shifted existing characters. He also made original Rayman art using composites from several sources so it looked really official but no exact copy of it could be found elsewhere. He additionally animated the menu scrolling to select Rayman. He did this by recording actual SSBU footage and then edited the footage after the fact to make the cursor look like it landed on Rayman so all the character transitions and sound effects happened flawlessly.

I already told you all how it happened in another topic.

1. Leaker sees a 4Chan post, decides to "make it real" bookmarks it
2. Researches a marketing company associated with Grinch movie. Finds an employee from LinkedIn. Made a mistake thinking he was with the wrong company--and makes the leak in in his name.
3. There's no need to decry about "standards" in CAD software because that shit is basically uniform across the board, easily explains why the CAD prints and plots looked the same.

That's all there is to it.
