Now that Halloween is getting a lot of love and they might reboot F13, we need Freddy back. It won't be the same without Wes Craven but we deserve better than that POS remake.

I think it would be interesting if they remade that and Friday the 13th, but less campy. The source material for both are great. Its the execution that is like to see done differently.

We had one a few years back.

It was trash.

That was my first thought, but then Rob Zombie DID make a couple Halloween movies that have been tossed into the dustbin of history, so yeah. It's doable.

Pull a Halloween 2018 by making a direct sequel to the original.

They tried that with both remakes and failed miserably. But the idea of a sinister Freddy can definitely work with the right script and director.

Hold up, now I KNOW you ain't talking shit about the F13th remake? That was a damn solid entry in the series.

No IMO here that shit is FACT.

This, no need to remake the originals. Why remake movies deemed good in the first place? Better to remake bad movies and make them good

It's a guilty pleasure of mine, actually. I'm just saying they were trying to make it realistic and gritty but it still came across as dumb and campy, which is fine for a F13 movie. The Nightmare remake just failed on every level.

I'd argue it's the best time to reboot it with special effects the way they are now. Imagine the dream world with Dr. Strange esque visuals. The possibilities are endless.

I hate how the MPAA censors slasher films. FT13 and NOES were butchered by them.

Nightmares 3-5 were pretty graphic from what I remember. F13 got it worse.

I rewatched it last night, still not a fan. The special effects don't hold up and none of the characters are likable. The only thing it has going for it is that Freddy's actually threatening. And that one scene in the pharmacy where the girl is drifting in and out of consciousness was pretty cool.

Regardless, I think it's time for another reboot.

I'm not against another one. We can always use more Nightmare on Elm Street.

I really liked the Freddy in the reboot. Jack Earle Haley did really good job with the more sinister, threatening Freddy. And he even had a few moments with some dry humor that I appreciated.

The Pharmacy scene was a real standout one. They had some cool ideas in the movie overall.

I wouldn't mind seeing the concept Robert Englund had. The movie would have had a bunch of different versions of Freddy, melded off of what the individual characters were afraid of, or pictured him as. I think that would be a super cool concept to play with.

That sounds more like Pennywise, but I can definitely see it working for Freddy.
