Wikipedia lists 15 mass shootings in the 90s.

This is pretty much it. But again America will make no changes and watch as innocent people are slaughtered by people who need help.

It's mainly because of how high our population is. We are a huge ass country.

5% of the population, 31% of the public mass shootings worldwide between 1966 and 2012.

And most of those shooting are confined to a handful of the shittiest parts of the country. There is no real problem with mas shootings in America - more like a problem with gang violence in a few cities.

Not entirely sure what the difference is tbh.

America still has a violence problem, no matter how it's framed.

because there are a lot of fucked up undercurrents in much of American society and a society where guns are every where and there ya go (I would blame the undercurrents and fucked up nature of our society more so than the availability of guns tbh, guns ain't hard to get no matter where you live in the world)

How is America, the greatest country in the world, actually trying to deal with having what is apparently the most crazy, violent population that isn't in a Middle East theocracy? What has caused the huge increase in mental illness and what exactly are we doing to treat this epidemic?

its over blown mostly because most of the gang violence is done by individuals who willingly chose that life and accepted the risks even treating it as a status symbol. thats not to say something shouldn't be done about it, especially for the people who have to live around that, but most of the deaths involved in inner-city conflicts are from individuals who chose to live life looking down the barrel of a gun.

The difference is that 99.999% of people in 99.999% of the country will never have a problem with firearms despite how many guns and gun owners there are throughout the country. The problem is violence in some cities, not guns.

That's from the study done by Lankford, and was really raked over the coals. Apparently they only got information from websites that were in English, and underesestimated the number of international incidents by a ridiculous degree (like, 1900 as opposed to 250).

It's all bullshit anyway though because they weren't counting gang related violence or incidents that all the victims were family members.

Obviously mass shootings are a big problem, I'm just pointing out that that particular study is pig shit.
