Let's face it, they try to shame people into acting like decent human beings. A tactic that just doesn't work and makes everyone more miserable. Nobody likes PC culture. Nobody likes to focus on some bullshit drama that every politician does while our system just gets more fucked by the day. I've started to think that Republicans really found the perfect leader in Trump since a lot of them really have no morals anyway, they just don't want to take the blame for being total shitbags. But Trump has ZERO shame and can take the blame for everyone, he literally doesn't care, he endorses the worst people without batting an eye and deflects to the media and shitposts on Twitter. Meanwhile dems are spinning their wheels trying to guilt trip a bunch of sociopaths into having feelings. They still try to negotiate. It's like, why? The opposition already said no. Either stand by your values or step down.

I most certainly do. And I think people who don't want to act like decent human beings don't need to share the commons with those of us who do. If moralizing makes people uncomfortable, good. Maybe they'll change their behavior, or failing that, get the fuck out, effectively improving things for everyone else.

Hillary did focus on her own and pretty much ignored the Midwest. That's not a winning strategy.

IIRC at the end they went out campaigning in Texas, Florida, and other states they weren't going to win because they assumed the Midwest was going to vote for her. That's pretty much what killed her chances.

At the very least, you can shame assholes into silence and make their continued asshole behavior cost them jobs, elections, friends, etc. We don't need to feel sorry that assholes are uncomfortable. We need to provide sufficient motivation for them to stop being assholes, put some teeth behind those words.
