Current Events > Any Dark Souls builds that use the scythe and magic?

I havent played in a few years so Im not remembering what works.

Fashion Souls-wise, Im hoping to do a scythe with dark magic, but I know Dark magic isnt available until Artorias of the Abyss, so... a) I dont know if the scythe is really compatible with this idea or b) what the hell I do for the majority of the game until I get dark spells

Any ideas?

Just pick sorcerer + master key, grab the scythe, run down to blightown from the entrance with the master key, farm the whatever the bug things are in the swamp to the left of where the bonfire is, get a bunch of green shards
go back up to undead burg, progress to andre (shortcut by havel), upgrade, go back to firelink, down the elevator again, upgrade with green shards to magic

your weapon now scales with intelligence

Does dark magic scale with intelligence? I heard some weird shit like it scaling with strength or something, but maybe that was just a specific catalyst?

Any early game spells I should grab? Ive never done a caster in DS1 outside of hurling some lightning bolts. I know the dark spells arent until AOTA.

I think there is a talisman that scales with strength, but no catalysts that I can recall.

To be honest, the closest that I have to a caster, is a low SL Pyromancer. So I might be missremebering.
