hm idk it might just be one of those irrational things
it just seems like such a boring character. i mean its got no personality at all, no backstory... what would its moves even be? all he does is sing. i guess he can use his voice as a weapon but it strikes me as extremely boring to have every move just be singing.

The weird thing about the chorus kids is didn't their support originate from a fake Smash 4 leak? That's where I remember hearing about them first. I don't know if they had actual support predating that.

I like to think those characters that were first a mii costume before they became actual characters, like K Rool, Inkling and Chrom has a greater chance of getting in.
Geno was a mii costume in Smash 4 so it wouldn't be too unreasonable for his inclusion.

They could always have his moves from the game. But also use other characters from the game, as well...I could see a bunch of potential moves if he uses other characters from the game to attack.

Apparently to a lot of 90s kids Geno was their first "edge lord" character. He's like Shadow the Hedgehog for millenials.

He was one of the big 3 popular characters who didn't make it into Brawl, along with Krystal and Ridley. And while Krystal has since lost relevance, Geno had none to begin with, so his popularity can't go down.

Idk, I don't think he was so popular that everyone old enough would know him. Heck, it's been 2 months since I finally noticed that I had played the original once when I was a kid. Until that point I thought those memories were of a Mario game or something. lol

Yeah I'd say K. Rool is more obscure than Banjo these days. But, remember, Ness was obscure. Mr. Game & Watch was obscure. Marth was obscure. R.O.B. was obscure. etc. etc. Obscurity isn't really a good argument against a character's inclusion.

That's true. Some characters I actually first learned about them from Smash. Also, I wouldn't think Banjo was a "Literally who" character. he was pretty popular a while ago. And even if Nuts & Bolts wasn't the best game, it was still only like 10 years ago. Though, I would say that should make him popular, but still...

I guess people who didn't play BK as a kid probably feel the same way towards Banjo as I do towards Geno, having not played SMRPG when I was young. But like... at least Banjo and Kazooie are the stars of their games. And that's games, plural, not just one game.

Banjo Kazooie felt like it had more of a distinct personality to me. I remember most of BK and BT. I barely remember anything about SMRPG. I certainly don't remember much of Geno. Maybe that's a personal thing. But I feel like if were looking at Square games for representation, there are a lot better picks.

We could have three or four Final Fantasy reps and it would feel more warranted than Geno IMO. Not to mention Dragon Quest or even Lara Croft.

Banjo-Kazooie was a seminal title for the N64, it's just kind of old at this point. But ROB was old too so whatever. I'm not complaining, I personally think Banjo would be awesome but I get why some people don't like the idea

I can't say for sure, but I think some people don't like certain characters just because they think other characters deserve it more... Especially when said character is more likely to get in instead of the character they want... Not all the time, but sometimes...

Personally, I think more is better. But I guess there has to be a limit somewhere...

While there were a lot of misconceptions about how characters were picked (a lot of people used to believe there were a set amount of slots picked in advance that were then filled in), it's still generally true that anything that takes up development time will take that away from other potential characters. But it's also nearly impossible to say who the runner ups would be.

So while for instance, I was disappointed at no Ridley in Smash 4, I dont think that was due to any of the other additions specifically, I dont think Ridley would have been added at any point. But people might still feel that way.

There are a lot of characters in Smash right now who I don't think should be there, in that they feel like relics, like a lives counter in a game with infinite continues. But it's impossible to say who might appear in their place were they removed.

That would only be if the rumor is true, though. And, even then, it wouldn't be a guarantee. If they did add him, it could be because of all the people wanting him. Also, instead of a sequel, it could always be a remake...

But I'm actually okay with that because this leak has been one crazy, wild ride. As soon as something comes out that seems to hurt it or debunk it, something else happens that seems to led credence to it.

Whatever happens, the Grinch leak will go down in Smash history as one of the craziest leaks to ever happen.

The leak is fake, guys. Look at the leaked image, and then compare it with 1:44 in this video.

The characters that people claim to see in the leak, do not appear in the actual real version of that roster. So while the roster image itself is technically real, the "leak" version is a fake with characters photoshopped into it. The character people say looked like Isaac was just to the right of Lucario; you could see something that looked like a character with blue pants, a red shirt or armored vest, and blond/yellow hair. But as you can see, this character does not appear on the huge, clear version of the roster in the video I just linked. So on and so forth for the rest of the characters.

I could make a comparison image, but just look at them side by side and you'll see what I mean.

All that said, I still hope Isaac makes it in. I think he has a good chance, since there have been several hints.

Drat, didn't realize it was an outdated version. Well, I guess this is still up in the air, then.

I have my doubts Geno will be in, though. Since King K. Rool got in, it's possible Banjo & Kazooie could, too, since both (B&K would be counted as one character most likely) are Rare creations. But Nintendo doesn't seem to wish to strike a deal with SE to include Geno in their games now, as evidenced by the fact that the Geno puppet thing was removed from the remake of Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, and to my knowledge he hasn't appeared in anything other than that since SMRPG. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Of course, Smash Ultimate is a much, MUCH bigger thing than the SS remake, so perhaps they would be willing to pursue the rights to include him in the game. Who knows.

Pretty sure Nintendo has owned all of Rare's DK characters for a long time so it doesn't really indicate anything about Rare being involved
