Maybe I read this wrong but it seems that shooting a 15 year old who is running away is within the guidelines for Chicago Police. 5-3 on the review board.

Chicago aint so bad, but yeah the criminal justice system here needs serious revamping. There's a book I read in college called "just mercy" and I recommend it to everyone who has never had a problem with the law so they can get an idea of what kind of reforms we need to make to the criminal justice system. If you think policing in chicago is bad, it's way worse in the southern states. The criminal justice system shouldn't favor those with money, as someone who has had to deal with and is currently dealing with a criminal case I know first hand how unfair this is. It's super crooked stuff going on, lawyers asking for cash up front instead of taking debit or credit cards, it's all super shady and no one really says anything about it.

XD dude I believe you, but this simply doesn't happen to the average folk in chicago. I've been living here for like 20+ years and I haven't been robbed, I just kind of know by nature not to go certain places at certain times. I know a girl who lives in the loop who got mugged, but that happened to her cuz she literally put herself in that position. You can't just go out by yourself in chicago at around certain times, this is true of any neighborhood you live in. Like 3am on the weekends by yourself with your iphone watch watching a youtube video on your iphone X with your wireless beats headphones...I mean c mon, you're basically asking to get robbed.

It must be strange for you to hear that's not normal. Take for instance in my hometown I don't have to worry about getting robbed no matter what time of day it is. It's puzzling you defend the criminal behavior by almost blaming the victim

Looks like they found a firearm that he dropped near the start of the foot pursuit. If the officer knew he had a firearm and didnt know if he dropped it, then it's fair game

Like held up. One was with a knife (lol) the other was a gun. I know not to fuck around with thugs, but it was a new area. Knife guy was cool, I said I only have cigs on me and asked if I could keep one. Gun guy was some freaky guy who looked like Steve Buscemi speaking in broken english...

Yeah, I just didn't know the area too well/places to avoid since I just decided to go there by myself. Detroit's the same way, but the only plus is that people tend to conglomerate into a few, populated areas so it's rarely an issue. Closest thing I had to getting 'robbed' where I live was some guy trying to go into my car, I approached him, and he said "awww shit, thought it was mine" and his was two lanes over, same make/color.

I just wanted to do some urban exploring, lost track of time, got lost, yada yada. I'm still planning on going back soon cus it's a cool city.

The only thing that scares me more are those trains...worried one is gonna fall when I'm walking under it..

The officer and CPD had a year to dig up dirt on the boy. Even if you are 15 kids this age can be annoying even if they are not doing anything.

Officer's only defense was 5 character witnesses that included *wait for this* his wife and a stellar work record which put him in the top 12 for citizen complaints.

Excuse for shooting boy is boy was pulling out gun. Excuse for chasing boy is boy threw away gun.

Guidelines

Before chasing unidentified teen committing unidentified act down dark alley on foot alone with drawn gun

Have at least 1 probable beneficial outcome.

Forensic experts say no way to shoot boy in back of head if boy's body movement indicated a gun is being drawn. Logic expert says no way for boy to have gun if boy threw away gun. (2ND remedial logic puzzle - figure out that previous statement relates to puzzle 1.

Guidelines. When you shoot someone, you get an ambulance immediately. Even take boy to ER. You do not go back looking for a gun as your first priority. Boy might have lived.
