It was wrong for them to be beat up, but you should not feel bad for the victim either.

It's wrong for them to assault the person over it and there should be legal consequences for the assailant(s), but I'd hardly feel any sympathy for the troll victim either. Some stupid people need to learn that just because you can, doesn't always mean you should. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Animal cruelty is just about the only thing I could advocate for violence over.

The necessity of violence is ethically preserved for the defense of ones self or in defense of another when all other options have failed or do not exist.

If you commit one thing to memory on this day, make it this.

how about human cruelty

Most humans have a way to fight back against other humans. Most animals do not. A dog gets kicked and he wimpers and hides in pain. A human gets kicked? He can fight back.

Devils advocate here, what makes you so sure? On paper one sees what humans can physically do to defend themselves, sure. But Adams state of mind keeps him fighting back, he's an extremely troubled and disturbed case. Rachel lost the will to live and can't bring herself to do anything, much less fight back. Breath is about all she can manage.

I've observed animals to engage in defensive instincts more then humans in the same situations.

I wonder if it's anything like people minimalizing violence to the point we can knock someone's teeth out for no good reason, put it on YouTube, and have thousands pat us on the back

A lot of people do that not because they can but because they're trying to bait a reaction and laugh about it later.

Someone that brags about animal cruelty is a piece of shit. You don't have the right to hurt them, but they're a bad person, and you shouldn't feel bad about bad things happening to bad people.
