Music is perfectly fine. I do non know what is going on.

Symphonic Music does not belong in a JRPG. MIDI music fits way better.

I'd imagine there's criticism because it's likely almost all recycled music from previous DQ games.

MIDI because the dude wants concert tickets to sell more in Japan for the symphony. Not even a joke.

Also, the dude is like a war crime denier and very xenophobic, which some people don't like. I call that a product of the times, which is unfortunate, but really nothing to get in a tizzy about.

when I heard yahtzee bashed dqxi. I was like "Wait, what?" DQ music has been always great and iconic. It's like bashing the Mario brother theme song.

If the U.S. PS2 release of Dragon Quest VIII had not had orchestrated music, I doubt so many people would be complaining about the lack of it in the new game.
