No. He's engaging in a false equivalency, one that grants more sympathy to abusers than it does the victims. He should really know better, and would if he critically engaged with it at all. But he didn't, it's hard to write that punchline. And he's ceding ideological ground to people who unironically read polemicists like Anne Coulter and take them at face value. Don't oversimplify this. Even if you don't deserve a better argument, I certainly do.

They published a bestselling book and will be making the rounds from talk radio to Fox news, to whatever platforms younger conservatives hangout these days. They have more than a fair chance to get these points out, among an audience who will seldom criticize them for anything they do so long as it falls within the dogma.

And then Bill books them. He asks a few probing questions, but they're never too specific, and Bill's not a journalist or anything so heaven forbid he try and grill them on any of their answers. Eight minutes and then the segment is done. No hard feelings. Go join the peanut gallery, cut up, and shoot one liners at the news for the next forty minutes with the other talking heads. The 'hard' part is done.

It really is quite 'safe' for them to come on Bill's show, and let Bill reassure audiences that their differences are really just a matter of tone, and that Steve Bannon's imagined ethnostate is 'mostly' hyperbolic and largely overstated by those uncool harpies on the left. Also, aren't paper straws the worst?

For someone with his supposed politics, his handling of the show structure is pretty irresponsible. It's demonstrably not getting the desired result.

I liked the Steve Bannon interview in fact, it showed that often the radicals distort a guy for their own benefit.

Steve Bannon isn't some racist raving lunatic trying to tear down America, BUT he clearly was disingenuous. I didn't see Bannon's views as any more credible, just he's not crazy.

That's what a lot of people don't understand. You can be a normal person and have different political views. Milo looked like a crazy little troll though, he was so happy to get attention on a real show.
