Constantly

I have no desire to use it and back out of the setup screen when it comes up. I wish they would stop including a physical button for dumb shit like this

You can disable the button. It is probably my #1 problem with my S9 since I now have a basically useless button, but whatever.

I use Bixby a lot.

But I disabled the single button press. That was annoying.

You can still accidentally hit the useless button. Or swipe to it. I wish it could be nuked.

Oh my gods yes!

I hate my s9+ . Garbage phone by a garbage company like all smartphone companies and their fans, who insist on removing buttons for what is essentially like, a millimeter of extra screen space (the fuck does that do? Nothing useful) and then go around adding an extra unnecessary button on the side of the phone that you keep pressing.

I still haven't even set up bixby. I've been debating whether I should just render the button inactive or remap the bixby button to be the new home button now that there's no longer a dedicated button for home (and I used to think it was annoying that the back and menu buttons were touch based instead of physical buttons sigh...)

But at the same time it's like... ehhhhh. I don't even want to get into the technology, I just browse youtube and use the internet anyhow. I'm a man of simple tastes and don't really care for that extravagant mumbo jumbo. I just don't want to deal with any of that headache.

if you don't even use your smartphone for anything beyond basic browsing and video watching then why the hell would you get a flagship phone?

Low end and mid-range devices are more than capable for that purpose now

They took away the ability to disable the Bixby button on the Note 9, but added in the option to double tap it to enable Bixby after the fact.

That's my only complaint about Samsung phones these days is the dedicated Bixby button.

Also btw you can download an app to make Bixby button useful. I'm thinking it would work well as a flashlight button.

How do you disable the button?

Set up a Bixby account and then disable both pressing the button and holding the button in preferences. It's dumb, but it works.
