Alright I made it to the factory according to the last save and I am calling it for now. Good shit. Enjoying this quite a bit. Being able to dodge enemies a lot easier than in 1 makes a huge improvement, but at the same time there are far more in this one, so it's still a challenge. Glad there's more story to it as well. Might put in another hour or so later tonight, but it's getting late and I got shit to do.

Cool costume change. Sherry's dialog is awful for the record. Voice acting isn't THAT bad, but none of her lines sound like a kid. "I finally have someone to rely upon."

Bingo. Now you get to play as Leon and see what he was up to during Claire's mission.

Sorta. Sherry is strictly a Claire thing while another character is strictly a Leon scenario. For example, in Claire's B mission, she would still interact and find Sherry although they don't have anything to do with Irons.

What can make it confusing is that there's two stories (Leon A & Claire B as one / Claire A & Leon B as the second) each split into half. Claire A & Leon B is the canon story though.

See how fast I can get through that so I can start Resident Evil 3 soon.

Because you're trying to get through these fast, I'd suggest that after you beat 3, look online to see the other ending files. Each time you beat the game, you get an epilogue screen pertaining to one of the characters in the series. Unless you want to go through the game 9 times, I'd say look 'em up after your first completion.

Also is Claire the lead in Code Veronica?

She is. It takes place a short time after 2 and she's tracking down Chris. Actually, you get to play as Chris in it as well.

Just for a fun tidbit, go to Wesker's desk in the STARS room. It's the one against the back wall near the photo of the stars. Check it 50 times. Nah, I'm not making that up. You'll then discover an hidden goody.

enjoy Leon B. the B scenarios tend to be tougher and add a decent amount of reworked stuff and story beats.

the only real negative i had with 2 overall (and is pretty universal) is that its just too easy. way too much ammo than pretty much every classic style game in the series. sucks they didnt include the reworked difficulties for all versions of the game like they did with version special editions.

as far as 3 id strongly recommend playing on hard for a first time. it can be pretty brutal starting out, but the easy difficulty (which is the only other difficulty) practically breaks the game with just how easy it actually is. 3 also sets it self up to be replayed atleast once more since it uses a lot of alternate scenarios through-out the game based on your choices and order of how you progress. some situations are vastly different and offer different story moments. that combined witht eh new gunpowder system which lets you customize your weapon usage to a degree makes it one of the more replayable games in the series. its length also helps with that if you did want to go through again since it is the shortest game of the 3 classic ones.

So far 2 has been a lot easier than the first one. I found it to be a decent challenge, but I kind of put the challenge on myself by not using all my ammo and stuff. The had enough to take down an army by the end of the game, so if I were to replay, I'm sure I'd have a much easier time and not be so frugal. I used my handgun 99% of the time. Had something like 80 ammo for the crossbow, 20+ for every type of grenade ammo other than my 50 rounds left for the explosive rounds. Only had 1 first aid spray the entire game so I had about 5 left of them. Plenty of herbs. So yeah. It was only as hard as I made it. I'll be more free with Leon.

Interesting stuff about 3. I might replay it if it's short and there's enough different stuff to see.

There's not one. A lot of the enemies in the games are classified as failures by Umbrella. Giant bugs and zombie dogs and killer plants are dangerous, but aren't all that effective from a military perspective.

Made it all the way to the station without getting grabbed once or firing a single shot. Much better at dodging this time around. Really cool how you start off on the other side of the car and see what was on the other side of that door in the cabin. Curious how much new gameplay there will be. I'd imagine the doors will still be locked and I'd have to re-do puzzles because otherwise Claire would have just solved everything first.

Nice. We get to see the dope ass way the helicopter crashed. What a loser. So does Claire only put that fire out or will we have to cheat the timeline and do the same things like Jill and Chris?

Only damage I took was a pecking from those dumb birds. I've got freaking 90 handgun bullets and a shotgun. Armed to the teeth. But on the downside lickers right off the bat. Guess it'll even out.

Alright so I WILL have to put the fire out. Bit disappointing, but it's still pretty damn cool to have them on such different paths.

What the heck is that? They air dropped a giant zombie? He's got on a Volgin coat. Oh no fucking around. Gotta face this dude right away. Wow he does not go down easy. Smacked the shit out of me and ate a ton of my bullets. Gave me some back in return, but it's still a net loss. And he gets right back up? So this super zombie's gonna be hounding me throughout I guess.

I took too much damage and lost too much ammo. I might reload and just run past him if I can. Is there any benefit to putting him down? Like will he be weaker next time or in the end when I'm assuming there will be a boss battle proper?

Clearing zombies in any of the main halls. Down to about 40 something rounds. Never mind that shit a fuck ton of zombies just came through the windows. That happened way earlier this time around. I didn't even need to go through them with Claire. Had to get to a few to backtrack to the item box and man the shotgun cleared like 4 of them. That's the crowd control I want.

Got the hidden item from Wesker's desk and developed it. Rebecca! I think that is the first reference to her this entire game. Who was crazy enough to discover this easter egg?

Met up with Claire and Sherry. First new puzzle piece, a Bishop butt plug. Nice. No clue what this is for.

iirc, you can try and run away from him but he can open doors and come after you. Good thing you've upgraded your handgun though.

dunno if youll go after the extra costumes at one point but one of them gives claire an old colt SAA revolver that can rapid fire all 6 shots and reloads crazy fast. kinda her version of leons ungraded pistol which is pretty nice.

I recall the name. He's a lot more what comes to mind when thinking of a perfect bio-weapon than dumb big hand Tyrant or eyeball bicep Berkin.

Made it back to the armory. Got the machine gun. Wow it takes up 2 slots. That's a problem for me. Also what's with the 100%? Does it automatically refill? Is it a limited amount of ammo with no reloads?

Have fun with it. I always used it in the sewers against the spiders/zombies and saved my regular ammo for the later parts. You can get extra ammo for it in the labs, but its pretty shit against the later enemies.

Fuck! Mr. X AGAIN. This one was timed perfectly too since the last time took so long. And it such a long twisty hall. Took another hit and used 5 shotgun shells on him, but picked up a round for the magnum which sounds like a good trade.

Alright finally used the crank and cog so I have all the key pieces. OH MY GOD THANK YOU! THERE IS A GAME DESIGN GOD WHO WORKED ON THIS GAME. That shortcut that sends you right back down to the underground part is the BEST. I was dreading the walk back there and didn't even remember which way it was. And Berkin's back killing poor poor Ben. Ben needed more play.

Was seeing Ben's death scene missable? I didn't get any key items from it and could have went and unlocked the 4 chess piece door from here, but woulda missed Ada's plan and Claire's radio call.

Good little camera surprise with Mr. X. He's not nearly as intimidating when I'm armed to the teeth though.

Lame I gotta redo this Berkin fight outside the train. Leon's got enough bonus fights. Double lame that he died with me shooting him off screen.

Also I like that Leon gets pissy about Ada and everyone not listening to him. Also romance out of the blue. Easy there Ada on the rebound.

And I am fucking lost. Pushed a block on an elevator to a locked door. Powered up another elevator but a master key is required. I've got no clue what to do or where to go.

Shit. Great game. Really really enjoyed that. I think as long as you're good with tank controls and cheesy voice acting/CG, this has aged very well.

correct. dont pick up anything from the start of the game until you reach the station. just before entering the police station theres a set of stairs going down to another path that leads to where you were. theres going to be a special zombie there that you have to kill for a key to unlock the costumes in the same room with the dark room and lockers. as claire thats also how you unlock the SAA revolver.

Nice just got the key. Love the little touches to add replay value. Only downside is that it doesn't look like you can do it on Leon A Claire B. Gotta do it with the one you cleared.
