Like Sony with Senran Kagura. Would anything negative actually happen?

Parents would get pissed off when the video game they bought for their kid without checking the contents contained something they didn't want their kid to see and they'd raise a shitstorm to get it banned.

How many of those people would actually complain rather than return it?

And what if the company simply ignored them?

I wish games wouldn't get censored. 99% of the time, the people it would affect aren't their target audience in the first place.

Tbh the game's rating should be plenty. But then again I guess companies feel the need to censor their stuff anyway despite it not getting close to AO because age restriction on ratings isn't enforced and/or parents don't follow it.

Their profits would drop, since anything with an AO rating can't be sold in plain view in most states. Which I suppose was a bigger concern back before widespread internet awareness, and ISP plans had huge data caps.

Time is a funny thing. There is always too much of it, except when you need it the most. Then there is never enough.

companies would have to work harder to build buzz for their subpar thing since they couldn't put out a "oh we just haaaaaaaaave to censor this...... but you can get it uncensored here...."
