There's an episode of parks and recreation where ann shows leslie that tom's apartment is always at 80 fahrenheit and they were squealing with delight, but isn't 80F like 26 Celsius? That's kinda hot for an indoor area, room temperature is anywhere from 3 to 5 degrees lower than that (so low 70s)

I just don't understand that particular scene.

Yeah it's too hot.

Ideal for me is like 70-72 F.

When I had my apartment in college I used to make it 68 F sometimes

Indoor temperatures are generally between 65 and 75. Anything outside of that is usually considered uncomfortable.

It was a joke about women liking warmer temperatures and men usually controlling the thermostat and keeping it lower.

I think women usually complain about that because women that men listen to are skinny and being skinny makes you more sensitive to lower temps.

I weigh 130 and keep mine at 72 and put it at 65 at night. I wear a T-shirt and light shorts inside. Maybe Im an exception tho.

Also, I just noticed that harsh truth in there...

I dont' know what country you're from TC but here in America "room temperature" isn't some default setting, it's whatever we want it to be, unfortunately many of us have grown accustomed to our own personal perfect temperature setting (which is usually warmer for women and cooler for men due to metabolic differences, also fat people like it colder) and it causes intense friction when we have to begrudgingly exist in the same spaces for more than a while.

Unless I want the electric bill to be $1000 during the summer there is no way keeping the temperature below 75 would be a good idea.

I generally keep the house between 77-79.

Yeah that's fair, low 70s as I predicted especially for larger rooms you'd want it cooler, especially at the office if you're wearing a whole getup.

So now that I know I'm right, it's even more confusing that leslie and ann were commending this... hmm...

I have my thermostat set at 70 during the day, 60 at night (from midnight until 5 am).

You shouldn't have your temp set the same all day. Have it go down when you're asleep or at work. If your thermostat doesn't have those settings, get one. It's stupid easy to change a thermostat and I can walk you through it
