It supports your community and rewards people by chance. Idk if waste is the right word...

Personally, I enjoyed scratchers a lot a few years ago but basically broke even. I would keep track of the odds and it's cool that it lines up. Most I won was $50 from a $2 ticket.

Small prizes ($2-10) on occasion, but not enough to break even.

Most I've ever won gambling was $75 and $25 on two consecutive pulls of a slot machine.

My great aunt won $10 million about 16 years ago. I'm in on a staff lotto but our winnings are just thrown back into the lotto fund which really frustrates me.

I never play the numbers. Scratchies sometimes. Years ago I won $100 twice and just a couple weeks back I can't believe I hit for $250 from the vending machine at the grocery. Redeemed that, got a couple more tickets and found a $50 there. Sounds like a lot until I say it cost nearly a grand for car work earlier in the month. Tires and brakes aren't cheap.

Nothing major on slots. The problem there is when you win $50 you're likely to put it right back in.

Won like $50 on a scratcher back when I was a kid. My dumbass stepdad would spend like $300 a month on those though so

I got a $200 holiday scratcher a few years ago, but mostly I broke even. My sisters and I just pool our change every few months and buy some tickets, just for the fun.

I dont remember the exact details, but the last time I played Mega Millions (which was like 2 years ago - Ive played like 5 times in my life), I got something like 4 numbers right, which resulted in me winning $100. For a moment, I got super anxious because I didnt know if Id just won like $10,000 or something. Was a little disappointed once I saw it was just $100, but hey... it was $100.

I'll buy $10 in scratchers every other month or so. Usually break even or get like a $2-10 profit.

Then I either put it into buying more or use it if needed. If I buy more but don't win anything or it is less than $10, I'm done for the month.

The only reason a person should gamble is to have fun, but lottery drawings never really seemed all that fun to me. Buy a ticket today for a drawing tomorrow or the next day? BOOOOORING! Scratchers at least have some interactivity, but it's still pretty dull.

Modern slot machines are generally a lot of fun, and if you play the penny slots, you can play a loooooooong time for $20. Games like blackjack, poker and baccarat have an element of skill to them, which makes them fun if you know what you're doing, and the odds are actually decent (though always in the house's favor). Craps is strategic, is usually fairly social, and the odds on line bets are about the best you can get. Odds can be fair to terrible on roulette depending on your bet, but a good active table can be a lot of fun. The wheel of fortune is a sucker's bet, stay away. And keno has all the fun of playing the lotto, ie, none.

yes, multiple times. usual if I buy 5 tickets I would win $2.

Scratch off I win $5 to $15 most of the time. Like 75% of the time.

Still it's a waste of money.

the most I won in the lotto was about $150 buy getting 4 out 6 numbers.
