Apparently a plot synopsis suggests that there's a threat bigger than Thanos coming.

To me, the most likely scenario here is that Captain Marvel possibly finds out about this threat in her movie, then in Avengers 4 she lets everyone know what's coming. Thanos comes to find out about it and is convinced to bring back all the people killed off in Infinity War (or at least the ones turned to dust) using the Infinity Gauntlet, in order to fight the new threat.

That would be by far the worst fucking thing ever.

That'd honestly be worse than CM just coming in and KO'ing Thanos no problem and saving the day.

Its not from a plot synopsis. Its from the back of some avengers action toy. And no one knows if its just marketing crap or inside knowledge. Im assuming that just because filming only wrapped up recently its bs.

It's plausible, because I had a discussion with a friend's about how the MCU is going to continue even it just felt kind the whole point and biggest bad is Thanos and his active to wipe out half of the universe.

There probably is a bigger bad that is coming that will be foreshadowed in the after credits scene like Thanos originally was.

I doubt Thanos is going to just up and decide to become a good guy and bring everyone back though.

I mean, my bullshit 5 second theory based on some of the supposed leaks I've read?

It's Kang, who's going to appear as a result of time travel shenannigans

He'd bring them back (if only temporarily) if he knew the entire universe was in danger.

Plus, Thanos has had his anti-hero moments as well.

Also, they could pull a moment from the comics and reveal that Thanos subconsciously wanted to lose, which is why he still left the original Avengers + some other heroes alive.

That's not really what happens. Nebula is far more benign than Thanos was. They take it away from her predominantly because 1) She can't be trusted with it, and 2) She wasn't very good at using it which meant that Thanos might be able to get it back.

I mean...yes and no.

Nebula gets the gauntlet from Thanos because he fucks up and wishes himself to become a literal part of the universe which causes him to becoming ethereal and "drop" the Gauntlet.

But she isn't really the "big bad", she just takes the Gauntlet, and they don't all "work together" to stop her, Warlock saves Thanos and convinces him to stop her.

And Thanos stopping her is basically just tricking her to change everything back to spite him which causes her to go back to being super fucked up and not really being able to use the gauntlet at all which leads to Warlock taking it

I really doubt we're going to get much of anything from the original Infinity Gauntlet story at this point as the later half of it doesn't even really feature any of the heroes as they all die trying to fight Thanos and instead is a trippy story about the entities of the cosmos and Thanos doing battle with each other.

There isn't one. The next threat will be the Skrulls invasion and Marvel will say "it's a bigger threat because they're fighting THEMSELVES TOO"!!!

I think you could honestly make Kang the Conqueror a bigger threat than Thanos if done right.

I don't even know if Marve/Disney can use Kang yet though.

I'm really worried about Avengers 4 because fan theories are getting as stupid as The Last Jedi fan theories got.

And then somehow, TLJ was even dumber than the fan theories.

Well for starters, in the comic book at least, the Infinity Gauntlet doesn't work on other universes, and that weakness can extend to beings from another universe.

With the rumored villain being Annihilus, that rings true, since he's from the Negative Zone.
