Current Events > Playing through the N'Sane Trilogy, how would you rank them?

I got 105% on Crash 1 with all platinums and Im at 100% on Crash 2, working on the plats. Havent started 3.

I gotta say, I vastly preferred Crash 1. Still liked Crash 2 and it had some good ideas, was probably a little more refined in some areas, but I dont know, it felt like it had less... heart? The talking head bits were funny, but I beat the game and got the N. Brio ending and just kinda felt like thats it? Plus there were more super annoying levels like the ice mechanics, jet pack, and bees.

Crash 1 was tough as nails sometimes, especially when going for plat (Stormy Ascent ), but I overall felt it was the better platformer.

I really liked one over the other two. I think TC kind of hit the nail on the head. Something about the other two just felt off. Like they were easier and had gimmicky stuff that dragged them down, while one was a consistent challenge and relied almost exclusively on just tough platforming.

My friend bought it and we're playing through 1 on and off. Even with 2 people we usually only get through 3-4 levels before needing a break.

Some of these plats in Crash 2 are fucking criminal tbh. Most of them are okay, but wow. And I say that having platted High Road, Stormy Ascent, The Lab, and all the other fun ones from Crash 1.

I think it's because in Crash 1, outside of a select few, it was more about the difficulty of the level than being a genuine speedrunner. If you had mastered the level and could get through it a) without dying b) without stopping and c) hitting every time box, you were almost always gonna get plat for your efforts. Some of Crash 2's are easy levels with a ridiculously high plat threshold, where you can "nail it" and still be 5 seconds short because you didn't do the absolute peak optimal slide-jump combo or some shit and I find that a little less fun IMO.

I'm just bad at this lol. I had rope walking mastered on ps1 version.

I tried to do the whole thing via rope walking but I actually ended up having an easier time just jumping on and immediately off the rope as needed rather than trying to ride it the whole way down.
