So I bought a car last month and my dealer plates will expire on the 19th. The dealership was gonna get my actual plates, now here's the problem. It was in Panama City, I evacuated to Mississippi. I don't think I'll be back or the dealership will be open by then. What do I do? Will a local DMV in MS give me temp plates? My car IS registered and everything. Just need new plates.

If its registered in your name and you have all the paperwork to prove it take it to the DMV.

Youd have to run into a mega dick of a cop to get a ticket for it considering the hurricane. It might be annoying getting pulled over once or twice, but I think you can pretty easily explain your situation and get off with a warning.
I wouldnt worry about it till you get home. Or just call a Florida dmv (even one from one of the less effected areas) and ask them what youre supposed to do. ... Copied to Clipboard!
