So I interviewed for this job in late August, a teaching position. I contacted them a week later, and the lady that interviewed me told me she was still interviewing. No biggie. She then extends a job offer to me in early September, I accept. A couple of days later, i fulfill their request and do the pre-employment hiring paperwork and consent to a backround check. So here I am three and half weeks later, still not working. I emailed them and they tell me oh my backround check still pending. I declined another job that was already to have me start working passed their background check, but that paid less money. It's frustrating how next week will me week 4 and I'm still not working. I have no criminal history at all. I feel these people are stringing me along in hoping a suitable candidate might reconsider their refusal, but I'm just annoyed at this point.

If there was a drug test I'd say 3 or 4 weeks. Just a standard background check? That should be like 3 days.

There wasn't one. And this company notorious for hiring delays
