Current Events > Man, I'm going through the interview process for an internship and they had me

do a phone interview, take 6 hours of quizzes, do three case studies, and now they are going to call me for another phone interview where I have to program over the computer while on the phone. lmfao

And this is only phase one. I'll have to interview at their office at some point too.

The job pays near minimum wage and the interview process is more extensive then interviews I had for positions that paid like 70k and were full-time.

I hope I don't fuck it up. And if I do, I truly wonder who the guy was applying to a minimum wage job who actually got through all of this stuff.

I didn't get offers so I'm lowering my standards so I can work in the meantime/pad my resume.

Also I this company has full time positions so I can work as an intern to leverage a full time position.

tbh I'm just going to quit once anyone else offers me a full time job

I mean the position is a complete nightmare in general. It's not even an dev internship, it's for Quality Assurance -__-

But like I said, better than nothing. I'm bored at home applying to these developer jobs. I just want to work on something.

idk, no one offers my anything. I've applied to like 100 places, a few gave me interviews, but they didn't like me :(

I'm trying to get this job at a major company that pays 80k to 90k and a rep said my resume was good enough, but I already know this dude will never talk to me again. Probably gets like hundreds of emails a day.

what. I said I was interviewed for them. I fucked up the interviews. I got to the last stage for two of them and fucked up by saying things that were unprofessional

one interview I got triggered because they lied to me what the job would entail

and the other I made a joke on the last interview that did not go over well >_>

man, I wish I was smarter. A classmate offered to reference me to google. They offer 110k starting.

But I was too scared so I said no. I know I would royally fuck up so I dont even want to waste his reference.

Although I dont really believe this story it is funny how difficult the interview process can be for some pitiful paying jobs (with no chance of career advancement) that arent in the dining or retail industry.

If you live somewhat close to where you went to school, and you got a four year degree, a lot of universities have alumnus services and could have mock interviews for you to try, so you can get better at that and not say stupid shit. Practice and evaluation are both great for getting better at interviews

to be clear, I didn't want to do the google interview because they interview you three times and it's very extensive. I doubt I have the knowledge to get through their rigorous technical interviews.

My friend told me some of his questions and I had no idea what he was talking about. They asked him about this concurrency problem using this technology I've never even heard of. Like he had to read 1000 of this weird shit I've never heard of all at once.

The easiest question was to program bejeweled. Which I could probably do. Just a two d array where you swap and check the above and below rows to see if 3 line up

btw I just had the interview and it was easy as hell.

They asked me an easy greedy algorithm problem
