I often hear stuff about people not being able to handle their grain alcohols and I'm all like "what's the diff?"

It's all ethanol. Different percentages, perhaps, and other chemicals and flavorings, but it's all ethanol.

Unless it's bootleg, in which case it might contain methanol. That stuff will fuck you up. Like, make you go blind permanently.

Nothing, it's a myth. Alcohol is Alcohol. It's how much you drink. A lot of the time they can "handle" it because they can't drink it as fast as a fruity drink.

That's not true at all. There's other stuff in that bottle or glass besides alcohol. I don't know why or how, but one or two Stella Artois or Budweisers will make me literally throw up from the pain it causes in my gut, but I can drink down 7 oz of liquor and feel perfectly fine. People process things very differently.

That's why you don't stir or mix the batch and drain the head. You should never drink the first or last ~3% of anything brewed.
