*I've actually played a very, very short snippet of dmc back in the day.

This game is really fun. I thought it'd be very old,and super archaic, but it's really fun. I know they swap the controls around so that it's more like the recent games, which is great (I wish the switch release of bayonetta 1 would've changed the controls to be identical to bayo2).

great game. I played a little bit of dmc2, and while i only did the first mission as lucia, the game seemed to still be pretty fun.

Yeah, it's pretty great. I played it on the PS3 collection probably 4 years ago, loved it. It has a really great aesthic to it as well, I love that pseudo gothic style it has going on. Games with fixed camera angles get me going for some reason, I love that perspective.

yeah, the fixed camera is mostly cool, the times that it sucks is when i have to do the platforming stuff

I never beat the game on normal mode. I might try it now, but I remember it being hard.

When it first came out I thought it was cool but kinda easy.
I recently replayed it and the shadow dog thing kicked my ass. It took awhile to get the rolling jumping rhythm back.

does it get worse from there? they implement a lot of cool stuff that I wish was in the newer games (a dodge button being the main thing)

I played the first game for the first time a few years back and also enjoyed it. I played the original PS2 release but didn't feel like the controls were bad or anything. Then again, I play PS1 and N64 games on the regular so maybe I'm just used to older control schemes.

I had multiple opportunities to buy the second game for chump change but then see comments like this...

... and pass on it. It's a shame how they supposedly messed the sequel up so badly but it's not like it hasn't happened before.
