Same here. Usually green onion, peppers, honey, sometimes regular onions and eggplant.

I also have my own garden to pick from as well.

blueberries, apples, cherries (the sour baking kind, mmm), peaches, oranges, wild strawberries (the tiny ones), blackberries, black raspberries, raspberries, mulberries

uhh... probably more?

Over all fruit though, I like to eat wild onions. mmmmm

edit: oh duh, more citrus and more: lemons (the big terrible ugly ones), grapefruit, plums, nectarines

edit2: oh, and loquats, but I hate those... probably a lot more as well that I can't remember. All hand-picked of course

edit3: and kumquats, which are definitely tastier than loquats... I think I'll stop because theres probably a lot more i'm forgetting... OH YEAH bananas, and papaya as well

yar, just find em in the woods, pull em out, wipe some dirt off and pick a few roots off and go to town. slightly sweet and not as harsh as a normal bulb onion

I've picked and eaten blackberries, raspberries, and cherries. strawberries too I think although I don't know if I picked them right off the plant but had someone else do it for me. for the cherries, I was sitting right in the tree.

Yep Ive had blackberries, peaches, plums, and strawberries all fresh off the tree/vine

We have a farmers market here that we visit. My favorite fruit when I was a kid was from a grove of wild plum trees. They are much smaller than the ones you buy in the store but so much sweeter. Store bought ones don't even taste good.

The farmer's market here is pretty famous. I haven't been there in a long time though.

Oh yea. Had a garden of several vegetable and fruits growing. Also had an apple tree. It was great.

Fruits/garden stuff I've eaten straight off the plant: Apples, strawberries, raspberries, elderberries, rhubarb and tomatoes. And in another year or two, cherries!

Other garden items that are hand-picked but use some prep before eaten: lima beans, green beans, carrots, beets, radishes, peas (shelled and snap), corn, lettuce, spinach, bell peppers, a couple varieties of squash, okra, cucumber, zucchini, muskmelon, watermelon, cabbage, brussels sprouts and spices such as dill, mint, oregano, rosemary, thyme and chive.

And for the last couple years a co-worker has been bringing in pears fresh from her tree.

Yup. My lola has a tangerine tree and strawberries in her back yard. I never ate the strawberries though, because snails and slugs can often be seen crawling on them.

We used to have a neighbor who was a green thumb and grew grapes and vegetables. He let us have some.

On the way from school there was an apple tree that grew over the back wall, and yeah, we snagged one sometimes.

Paid to go cherry picking once. That was a lot of fun. The small sour cherries are my favorite. 1 for me, 1 for the basket. 2 for me, 2 for the basket. ;)

I went to a strawberry farm once and ate everything I picked.

My grandparents had all kinds of fruit trees. Naval oranges, Valencia oranges, tangerines, lemons, apples, cherries, plums, peaches, nectarines, avocado, and some weird thing called a loquat.

They also grew black eyed peas, string beans, tomatoes, carrots, cabbages, potatoes, sweet corn, asparagus, rhubarb, and strawberries. Probably other stuff too that I can't remember.

I'm glad lots of people have eaten fresh picked fruit! It's so tasty!

As a kid once we went to some berry farm for school and could take berries and eat them.

I remember trying a berry and not liking it, and one of the workers (or owner? Was a long time ago and I was young) said I was "wasteful and stupid" for not liking berries. I mean, I ate one and didn't like it so didn't eat any more, don't see how that's wasteful or stupid.

Place I used to live at had an apple tree, so yeah I had a few apples.

Otherwise nah, haven't had anything not from stores beyond that.

Back in Mass. where I grew up there were a lot of small gardens. In my backyard we had pears, apples, wild raspberries, golden raspberries, blackberries, grapes, and a bunch of neighbors with various other fruits/veggies that we could help ourselves too. It was awesome! anytime I wanted a snack, I just went for a walk.
