I'll sync TrueTrophies when it lets me do so

It's been quite the journey to reach one hundred platinum trophies on PSN. I decided to make the milestone special by going back to where it all began with platinum #1 - the original Atelier Rorona. Almost seven years ago now at this point. Having completed many games even before I got a PlayStation 3 made it easy to start hunting platinum trophies when I finally did get one. I also lined up this trophy perfectly so it would also be my 7,000th trophy - a double milestone. I doubt I would have thought seven years ago that I would ever get close to this point - certainly since it took me almost two years to hit ten platinum trophies.

Replaying this again made me get hooked on Atelier games again. I can easily lose hours into any of the Ateliers from the PS3, and the PS4 games have been sadly lacking in that regard. Firis in particular bores me sometimes, and it's why I still have yet to even get past the first year of the game and actually beat it - much less get the platinum in it. Even with the many playthroughs I've played through Rorona already with the original and this game (I only did a second playthrough of this to get the platinum - the original playthrough of this Plus version was back in 2014) I still managed to get hooked and finally find ways to beat the superbosses required for this platinum. I also managed to have all the endings queued up at the end of the regular story, something I never managed to do with the original game.

I feel like Gust has lost how to make the Atelier series good again, and Tecmo Koei cutting budget and removing the dub certainly isn't helping matters. The Dusk trilogy, especially Escha & Logy, is where it hit its high point and it's only gone downhill from there. Nelke seems like a weird spinoff as the main character doesn't even do alchemy. I... probably will still buy the PS4 remakes of the Arland trilogy because, like this game, I've enjoyed my time with all three of them. Hopefully it paves the way for a Dusk PS4 remake as well.

In the end, I enjoyed going for one hundred platinum trophies, even if some of the games on the lists could be considered jokes, like My Name is Mayo. I tried to minimize those by not going too far and adding other trophy trash like Midnight Deluxe and Mr. Massagy. Still waiting for a game to beat my third platinum, SSX, in PSNProfiles rarity but no platinum I've gotten seems close (even the ones that are a single trophy away from completion, like Yakuza Kiwami). I think my next platinum trophies will be for my top 10 list of this year, and then following that I'll take a look at the games that missed the cut on my polls for milestone platinum trophies. I do want to take a look at games such as God of War I HD, Deadly Premonition, Assassin's Creed II, and Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch at some point and they've all just been sitting around, some for multiple years.

Now though, it's time to head towards two hundred platinum trophies, and hopefully it won't take seven years this time!
