tequila makes me black out
those 8% alcohol mikes hard cans and similar stuff make me feel like I'm in a diabetic coma
dark liquor makes me puke, except bourbon which just makes me sad
red wine is a good drunk but it's the only thing that gives me a hangover

I like vodka the best. and champagne

Iirc, actual differences in mood are generally placebo effects brought about by some initial chance experience and/or expectation.

Absinthe

Uh, absinthe made me black out two of the three times I drank it, but those times I drank a whole bottle.

This. I laugh when people say a certain alcohol makes them blackout. Dude, you're just drinking more alcohol overall. This isn't rocket science.

Is it possible that alcohols with higher sugar content effect people differently?

While different types of alcohol are made with different ingredients; with perhaps very few and specific exceptions, nothing is so prevalent that it would impact the buzz.

Yeah...that's definitely why you blacked out. Y'know, absinthe is high in alcohol content.

Unless you're diabetic, no.
