Re-dubbed is superior on many levels, even though you can hardly call it a "faithful" translation. That's ok, you should see how Animal Crossing looks between the JP/English versions. Very similar liberties taken to make the game make more sense to English speakers.

If you like Anime though, the JP-based translation of SOTN is probably better for you since you're used to all this heart-vs-power crap.
