Ive been thinking a lot over the past couple of weeks, and while I strongly disagree with almost every political viewpoint on the right, I still cant find myself to actually personally dislike someone solely because of their political beliefs. I know a lot of conservatives, both people Im fond of and not, and I just thought itd be nice to have some true discourse about the subject.

Do you feel that the politicians in the spotlight right now (Trump, Kavanaugh, Pence, etc.) represent what you want? I feel as though many conservatives I know dont feel that way at all, yet thanks to media/loud voices on the Internet conservatives have been stereotyped as all being extreme about it.

There are little bits I like about all of them and bits I dislike about all of them. But generally I like the core conservative concepts that they all share. I like capitalism, I like the Second Amendment, I like the First Amendment, I think the free market is more effective at running an economy than government micromanagement.

I doubt there is anyone on earth that I agree with 100%. But you have to weigh out the things you like against the things you dont like.

It is kind of weird that they are all like these cartoon versions of people. Even when you see them talk it's like they actively prey on simpletons. It would feel insulting to be a conservative in 2018 tbh.

Gay marriage
Legalization of marijuana

Those are the first two that immediately come to mind. Im typically pro-social issues as long as it doesnt infringe on other people.

Why not post on your main?

To be clear I have a lot of respect for many conservatives on this board, including Nomadic View along with what he does. What is done when conservatives play politics is treat people like idiots for the most part. There is solid theory behind many conservative viewpoints that can actually be stated in a comprehensible way but because their base is mainly uneducated morons they don't bother.
