Whenever Im at someones house with a cat, theyre always like Close the door before the cat gets out!, like it wont come back if it got out.

Because when cats are outside they're exposed to danger and disease so responsible owners don't let them out.

They will come back if they're treated right. People don't want them out because of assholes who let their 250lb roided up dogs run loose on the streets.

Cats have a much higher chance of hanging around then a dog that got out, if it's a mostly inside cat it's probably scared shittless once it gets out there hiding in a bush nearby
