Also is there a way to make updates and DLC download to my SD card and if so, how? Also if so, how do I move what I already have on the internal memory to the SD card

The internal memory is low and kind of sucks. But as long as you have an SD to save the games to, the memory shouldn't take up too much space.

I believe they will save to your SD card if the game is saved to it. You could always put an SD card in and redownload the game. You should be able to archive, then redownload.

But I don't want to redownload them. Why can't Nintendo not suck at everything and just allow me to transfer it

Either way, it would probably take time. I feel the reason you don't want to re-download is because of the time. But transferring might take about the same amount of time, but probably has a higher chance or messing up the data.

Nintendo is deathly paranoid of piracy, and screwing with savefiles is a common vector.

Nintendo intentionally took away the ability to move save data to the SD card, something available on past Nintendo consoles, to try and get people to purchase their subscription service which has cloud saves.

Oh. That makes sense. Guess I'll be paying $20/year after all.

I don't particularly have a compulsive attachment to my saves, so I will not.

Loss of save is either an excuse to do it all over again, or an excuse to abandon, and has been so since 1986 or so.

There are only certain games I probably wouldn't mind losing my saves for. But, tbh, I'd rather not lose any. Haha.

I remember the Wii U was a nightmare w/ saves, too.

Wanted to copy some save files to bring with me back home to load on my friend's Wii U, so we could play Hyrule Warriors w/ everything unlocked already.

But apparently you have to like...transfer your entire profile to the "new" Wii U and have it erased from the original one. Your files can't exist in more than one place at a time.
It's so fucking stupid.

I can't tell if this is suppose to be sarcastic or not. But if not, I think that's the point... Probably...

It's a save file. Who cares if it's on more than one machine? It's not game data. It's a freaking file.

Worst thing about the Switch, I think.

I'm also displeased that it ditched the dual screen functionality the Wii U had. I loved that.

That was pretty neat. Like for WWHD, you could use the bottom screen to mess with stuff while sailing across the sea. Or having a map always available (as in not just the minimap). Or being able to use it in Splatoon. But I don't mind as much, I guess. I like the portability a lot more.
