So I recently just moved from my hometown to a new city, and now that Im all settled in Im looking to get out and meet some people. I know about meetup, but I was wondering if you guys knew any other good websites to use.

I'm not sure about any websites, but you can always use google to look up what they consider the best and meet one or two people from each to see if they're the type you're looking for or not. But for just meeting new people, you can do that at places like work or school (Idk why you moved). Or out at a bar of club. Or just wherever, really...

Meetup really isn't what people on here make it out to be. It seems to be more for the older generation because a good half of them I saw were explicitly like 40+ or 50+ and the other half are so special interest that it doesn't matter.

Moved because of work. Not really one to go out to a bar or club alone, but Ive been keeping my eyes open at work. Mainly a lot of older people though.

There was a few trivia night and free group dancing lesson ones that seemed fun.

Websites can be a little shady. My friend met his gf on the streets. I saw him do it, I was there. He said hi to her, they had an awkward conversation, and she gave him her phone number in the end.

Thats cute! Im just not one to go up and start talking to a random stranger on the street. Maybe if they came up to me I would entertain them, but not the other way around.
