We've gotten to the point where I can't think of any non-blatantly conservative source that is accepted by conservatives. People are dismissing NYT, WAPO, CNN, the New Yorker, NP goddamn R. Network news, cable news, print news, internet based news, podcasts, none of it is legitimate anymore. It doesn't seem distinguishable from simply not wanting to believed negative info or info that challenges a world view.

And I anticipate someone trotting out the BBC or AP or something, but that's clearly not what's linked or shared here or elsewhere. It's always Breitbart, Daily Wire/Caller, Fox News, Gateway Pundit, Washington Times. All sources that coincidentally tell conservatives what they want to hear.

I find one of the best news sources for US news is the BBC. They lean left, but they're not nearly as invested in the outcome of the story so they tend to just report the facts.

I know you "anticipate it", but as often as possible when I share a source here, it's the BBC version.

Heck. I'm leftist as heck and I know that guns are necessary for minorities to protect ourselves.

The only restrictions I care about are that I want to make sure that total morons (like maybe, somebody who would use a gun to ignite a flammable substance for a gender reveal party) aren't allowed access to guns, and definitely restrict guns for people with a history of strong antisocial behaviors (committing acts of domestic violence, threatening people, etc.).

They are certainly more neutral than Breitbart and all these other places that spread blatant misinformation and conservative narratives and justify it by saying they're the "balance" to other media. It doesn't make sense to complain about all of these places being biased and then watch/read news that's even moreover biased, but more palatable.

liberal and conservative are not mutually exclusive ideologies

anyway: NYT and WaPo are conservative. so is Wall Street Journal.

The Economist and National Geographic are also generally pretty reliable

There are none. In capitalist society media is controlled by the rich trying to push their agenda, and in socialist society media is controlled by politicians trying to push theirs. There is no trustworthy news source and everything you read must be picked apart piece by piece.
